Day 1
Upon your Arrival at Durban International Airport, you will be met by your guide and transferred to your accommodation on the Kwazulu Natal South Coast. Our accommodation is in Swiss-style log cabins with fantastic views. Overnight on Kwazulu Natal’s South Coast.
Day 2
An early morning rise to enjoy two dives on the Aliwal Shoal, situated about 5kms offshore from the town of Umkomaas on the Kwazulu Natal South Coast. The shoal also attracts a huge variety of sea-life including Tiger & Hammerhead sharks, Morey Eels, Giant Manta Rays, Whales, Dolphins, Hawk Fisk, Groupers, Angelfish, Wrasse, Brindle Bass and much more.
Dive sites on the Aliwal Shoal include Shark Alley, Pinnacles, Raggies Cave, Manta Point, Chunnel, Anvil Flats, South Sands, False Cathedral, Tiger Cove, Northsands, Eel Skin, Cathedral as well as the wrecks of the Produce & Nebo. Between dives breakfast is served at the dive centre or on the beach. After the diving, we set off for the Tala Game Reserve. Tala is a private reserve covering an area of 7,000 acres of unspoiled Africa. The wildlife within the reserve includes rhino, giraffe, zebra, hippo and a number of antelope, all roaming free.
The unique mix of thornveld and open grassy plains ensures unrivalled game viewing and photo opportunities. Overnight on the South Coast.
Day 3
An early morning rise for two dives on the world famous Protea Banks, situated about 7.5kms offshore from the town of Shelly Beach on Kwazulu Natal’s South Coast in South Africa. The Protea Banks offer a great chance to see many different sharks including Hammerheads, Tiger, Zambezi [Bull] Sharks, Ragged Tooth Sharks, Threshers, Copper Sharks or Bronze Whalers, Duskies, Sand Sharks and on occasion a passing Great White. Between dives breakfast is served at the dive centre or at the beach. We spend the afternoon relaxing at the chalets or enjoying one of the local activities. Overnight on the South Coast.
Day 4
An early morning rise for two more dives on the world famous Protea Banks. Between dives breakfast is served at the dive centre or at the beach. We spend the afternoon relaxing at the chalets or enjoying one of the local activities. Overnight on the South Coast.
Day 5
An early morning rise to enjoy another two dives on the world famous Aliwal Shoal. The Aliwal Shoal was named after the sinking of the Aliwal in 1849 and has been rated as one of the top dive sites in the world. The shoal is 3.5kms in length with plenty to explore and is one of the best sites in the world to see Ragged Tooth (Sand Tiger) Sharks. Between dives breakfast is served with views overlooking the ocean. After the diving we transfer north to the Sodwana Bay National Park on Kwazulu Natal’s North Coast. Our accommodation is in a Swiss-style lodge with en-suite facilities. Overnight at Sodwana Bay.
Day 6
An early morning rise to enjoy two dives on Africa's southern most coral reefs. Sodwana Bay is situated within Zululand and is a marine reserve that forms part of the Greater St Lucia Wetlands Park, one of South Africa's world heritage sites. The variety and diversity of life is amazing, you will see Invertebrates, Shoals of Big Eyes, Moorish Idols & Snappers. There are also many Scorpion Fish, Potato Bass, Marbled Rays, Trigger Fish, Dolphins, Whale Sharks, Turtles and Sharks.
Quater mile reef at Sodwana Bay is also home to pregnant Ragged Tooth Sharks during the summer months. Between dives breakfast is served on the beach or at the cabin with views overlooking the ocean. After breakfast we enjoy another dive before spending the afternoon relaxing or enjoying one of the many other activities on offer.
Should the weather and sea conditions permit there will be an option for more diving in the afternoon. In the evening we enjoy dinner at one of the local bars or restaurants. Overnight at Sodwana Bay.
Day 7
An early morning rise to enjoy another dive on Africa's southern most coral reefs before transferring back to our accommodation on Kwazulu Natal’s South Coast. In the evening we enjoy dinner at a local restaurant. Overnight on Kwazulu Natal’s South.
Day 8
Spend the morning relaxing before being transferred to Durban International Airport where your guide will bid you farewell.
