Day 1:
A free collection service is offered at 07H00 to depart Lilongwe at 0730. Continue to Mchinji and complete immigration formalities then continue to Zambia and Chipata - Zambia's capital of the Eastern Province. From here we drive to Lusaka on the Great East Road with a brief stop at Luangwa Bridge. ETA in Lusaka is mid afternoon.

[For those clients arriving directly in Lusaka, you will be collected from the airport and transferred to Pioneer camp awaiting the arrival of the rest of the party.]

Day 2:
After an early start and breakfast we continue through Lusaka, over the Kafue River to Lochinvar National Park. This is the home of the Black Lechwe with the quantity and variety of water birds on the lagoon a definite highlight. We set up our own tents here and clients are expected to help with the camp chores. All camping equipment is provided except for sleeping bags.

Morning and afternoon game drives exploring this area.

Day 4:
After packing up camp, we drive to Victoria Falls. ETA in Livingstone is lunchtime. Check into our well appointed and furnished twin tents in The ZAMBEZI WATERFRONT complex. After lunch a visit to Victoria Falls is included. Spend the afternoon viewing the falls and following the numerous trails in the area.

Day 5:
Today you are able to experience the numerous activities and options that has established this area as the "Adrenaline Capital of Africa". Today only your breakfast is included and you have the entire day to pursue the activity of your choice. River cruises, game drives, visit to Livingstone museum, cultural village tours, white water rafting, jet boating, canoeing, river boarding, micro lighting, helicopter flips, bungi-jumping, horseback and elephant safaris, fishing and day trips to Chobe Game park in Botswana are all readily available and organised on site.

Day 6:
Depart Livingstone and continue Northwards into Kafue National Park. This is Zambia’s biggest park and our route takes us into the entrance gate at the bottom of the park and it’s a game drive through the park till we get to our overnight camp at New Kalala. Here we again set up our tents in the well-appointed campsite.

Day 7:
Morning and afternoon game drives in this vast area. Routes taken will depend on local information available at the time of our visit.

Day 8:
Depart Kafue and continue towards the Great North Road. Depending on local road conditions, we aim for Kasanka National Park. Should this not be possible, we will find a comfortable hotel en route.

Day 9:
After a morning walk around the camp, we depart via David Livingstone’s grave [the tree under which he died] and onto Bangwelu Swamps. This area offers protection to a huge herd of Lechwe and the rare Shoebill stork, amongst other species. Shoebill camp is situated on an island in the middle of the swamp and is reached by a causeway built to accommodate vehicles. The swamp is home to some breeding pairs of these rare species and boat or walking safaris are undertaken to see them.

Day 10:
The day is spent on walking safaris and game drives onto the surrounding plains to see the unique species this area is so well known for.

Day 11:
Depart and drive to Kapishya Hot Springs. In the area is Shiwa N’Gandu – a castle built by Major Gore Brown after the war. Here we stay in simple chalets overlooking the hot springs .

Day 12:
Today we descend the central plateau into the Luangwa Valley. North Luangwa is at the foot of the escarpment then we continue through this remote park to Buffalo Camp.

Here we stay in the grass and thatch chalets.

Day 13:
N. Luangwa is incredible for game walks and this is the preferred mode of viewing game in the area. The day is spent on a morning and afternoon walk and 3 wholesome meals daily. Night drives are also offered as an optional extra. [$25]

Day 14
Depart N Luangwa after breakfast, cross the Luangwa River and drive southwards. The entire drive is through game rich areas and is really an extended game drive. Drive through Luambe National Park and the Nsefu Sector of South Luangwa till we reach Mfuwe sector.

Day 15/16:
After a light snack with tea & coffee we depart for a morning drive at 06H00.Drinks and snacks are taken along for your enjoyment whilst in the park. Depending on game sightings, we return to the lodge at 11 for a scrumptious "brunch". An afternoon at leisure, prior to your afternoon drive.

Day 17:
An easy start to the day then pack up and return back to Lilongwe via the popular tribal textiles craft shop. A picnic lunch is eaten en route and ETA in the city is 1500.
