Diani House Attractions
The garden is a haven for small forest animals, including five types of primate and many birds. Nocturnal bush babies, bush buck, the tiny suni antelope and several troops of the endangered black and white colobus monkey, are resident in the garden. The garden has 250 meters of beach frontage onto what some well-traveled guests have called one of the most beautiful beaches in the world.
The exclusivity of the property in terms of its size and the personal attention offered, makes it suitable for the most discerning of guests. Just one hour's drive from Diani, the Shimba Hills National Reserve is a beautiful area of forested hills, home to elephant, buffalo, leopard, giraffe and Kenya's only herds of sable antelope. The distant ocean views and the abundance of bird life, butterflies and plants ensure that there is always something of interest for you to watch as you explore the hills.
Diani House Facilities
One of the original houses in the Diani area, this large and comfortable family holiday home is set in twelve acres of forested tropical gardens. Stunning views over green lawns lead the eye down to a pure white beach and the deep blue waters of the Indian Ocean. Diani House is perfectly located for your relaxing beach holiday of a lifetime. Your hosts have an excellent knowledge of the area and will be delighted to show you around, or simply ensure that you are able to sit back, relax and do nothing - the choice is yours.
There are just four spacious, en suite bedrooms at Diani House. Each room has its own verandah and enjoys a panoramic view of the gardens, forest, beach and ocean. The rooms are simple with whitewashed walls and large, comfortable Swahili style wooden beds. Simple creature comforts abound. Food is a special feature of a Diani House holiday, with the emphasis on seafood. Every morning fishermen deliver fish and shellfish to the kitchen, providing an abundance of marine variety.
Excellent local produce is put to good use by the Diani House chef, allowing you to savor new local dishes as well as your own personal favorites; special diets are easily accommodated on request. Meals are usually taken al fresco on the front verandah, although you may choose to eat on your own verandah or to visit one of the several, excellent local restaurants as well.
